Dr. Abraham Acosta obtained his MD at Universidad Veracruzana in the city of Poza Rica, located in the northern part of his native state Veracruz. Later, he recevied his ophthalmic surgeon degree at the Hospital Nuestra Señora de la Luz I.A.P. in Mexico City,  which is one of the best training centers for ophthalmologists and sub-specialists in Latin America. In this same hospital, he also received his subspecialty in orbit, eyelid and tear duct surgery degree.

Dr. Abraham Acosta is a certificated ophthalmic surgeon by the Mexican Council of Ophthalmology A.C 3476, member of the Mexican Society of Ophthalmology A.C. 4620, member of the College of Ophthalmologists of Quintana Roo A.C., member of the Pan-American Society of Oculoplastics SOPANOP, accredited member of the International Council of Ophthalmology, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Professor at the International School of Medicine, Universidad Anáhuac Cancún.
